HILTON HANOI OPERA

maxresdefault.jpg

Located in a prime location, Hilton Hanoi Opera is still a very popular designation from the Hilton Group. Located at No. 1 Le Thanh Tong street, just several minutes from the famous Hoan Kiem Lake, with shops and restaurants surrounding it. It was built in 1999 when Vietnam was opening up for tourism. It was built next to the Hanoi Opera House - a historic building from the World War era that is still intact and running. Now, the Opera House is an adjacent monument for the hotel and making it a sightseeing destination for its historic value.

The Hilton Hanoi Opera was one of the first few 5 stars hotels in Vietnam. It was not an easy project, as the architects must work around the Opera House and keep it intact. The receptionist area had concrete pillars foundation. Pile drivers were not allowed, with fear it would damage the foundation of the Opera House. Redbrick masonry was used for the facade, with a plasterboard backing along with an outer coating.

The name also has an ironic meaning, as the Hoa Lo prison also has a similar name. It was called “Hanoi Hilton” by the American POW for their treatment during captivity. It is also pretty close to the hotel and is a good sight for tourists.

Everyone can ultimately enjoy local culture in their exclusive local rooms and Vietnamese Ba Mien restaurant. They offer everything you need for an unforgettable stay with a versatile conference area and an outdoor pool.
